EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND GREEN TRANSFORMATION OF THE EU

Based on a review of professional literature and documents (UN UNESCO international documents, strategic the Republic Croatia), scientific (social ecology, interdisciplinary literature) using hermeneutic approach as well analysis comparison available secondary data, this paper first presents analyses concept EDS then examines issue its implementation representation at different levels formal education in Croatia (first pre-school school system higher system). Finally, results are presented discrepancy between policy recommendations strategies practise, i.e. CE, EDC ESD Croatian educational context, is highlighted, need for changes teacher training to change or harmonise existing programmes with goals European “green transition”.
